SPN 2659 FMI 7 — Intake air heater performance

SPN 2659 identifies the parameter the control module is monitoring — intake air heater performance. FMI 7 is the failure mode the module logged against it. Both numbers matter: the same SPN with a different FMI is a different repair.

Hard cold starts, white smoke on startup.

• Failed intake heater element
• Bad heater relay
• Corroded power feed

• Check heater current draw at key-on
• Test the relay and its ground
• Inspect the power stud for corrosion
