SPN 3361 FMI 5 — DEF dosing unit circuit open

SPN 3361 identifies the parameter the control module is monitoring — def dosing unit circuit open. FMI 5 is the failure mode the module logged against it. Both numbers matter: the same SPN with a different FMI is a different repair.

• Open dosing valve coil
• Chafed or disconnected harness
• Failed dosing unit

• Ohm the dosing valve coil at the connector
• Command the dosing valve with the scan tool
• Inspect the harness along the frame rail

Work the list in order and record the readings. Confirm the fault with live data before any part is ordered — a code names a circuit, never a failed component.
